Syllabus/ Curriculum

Our studio operates under the curriculum of the Asia Pacific Dance Association of which our Principal, Corinne Yee, is the Director.

The syllabi are JazzAddict Australasia (jazz) and Urban Ignition (hip hop).

Both JazzAddict Australasia and Urban Ignition are taught in New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong.

 

JazzAddict Australasia (Jazz)

This syllabus is exciting and stimulating. Strong technique and presentation skills are encouraged.

Classical technique, jazz arms, floorwork, isolations, travelling progressions, turns and leaps form the foundation exercises for the syllabus.

Amalgmations include jazz, musical theatre, lyrical (from Elementary) and contemporary (from Intermediate).

Students are supported and encouraged to choreograph their own work with Impromptus included in syllabus work (Primary and Junior levels) and Student Choreography (from Elementary levels).

 

Urban Ignition (Hip Hop)

Urban Ignition is a fresh syllabus with strength and 'flava'. The syllabus provides a technical base in hip hop with a strong style element and room for creative solo and crew choreography.

Technical amalgamations incorporate arm and foot combinations, travels and turns, isolations, tutting and floorwork.

Freestyle and crew choreography are incorporated to allow freedom of ideas.

Urban Ignition Hip Hop is set to today's freshest music.
